🫶TIME 2 CUDDLE🫶

I just got back from Brooklyn after a cozy Cuddle Puddle on a rainy Sunday afternoon.  It was lovely. However, I saw advertisements all over NYC for a new AI friend app, and my heart sank. In a world where most of our community is found online, I want to foster community IRL. I want to give men an opportunity to explore their softer side, and help everyone experience what its like to relax into playful, nurturing touch.

Time after time, I get people so afraid of what men will do at the Cuddle Puddles, and to that I say that I don’t think men are inherently predators.  I think that men who self select to come to a platonic intimacy event are probably going because they need it, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If there were more opportunities to support men in their softness and warmth, then maybe we wouldn’t live in a culture where men are so deprived of nurturing touch that they have to go out and steal it or be leaky about their desire.  Men deserve a safe place to land, to be playful and be welcomed in their complexity.

How do I ensure safety for everyone? We do this through the somatic exercises for boundaries and consent, so that NO ONE feels unsafe.  We do this through self-responsibility and group responsibility. We discuss rules of the space, and we talk about arousal non-concordance, and what to do if arousal happens. We don’t shame it, but we also don’t share it.
